Sombra Efímera II

Sombra Efímera II

SYNOPSIS

“Sombra Efímera II” is not a narrative structure or linear progression. They are rather constructed from a series of episodes. Multiple simultaneous scenic actions, shocking images with which we enter a new territory to explore where we leave fear behind; to give way to forms, light, sound... always from our roots, flamenco, which is our form of expression by nature.

With the piece we wanted to segment different layers of colors with which we develop the visual space, starting with a clean white that transmits purity, coetaneity, youth; we evoke the past, the fears, the chaos, the disorder with the breaking of the soil and the stains of the charcoal. The work was born at the beginning of the scene, with which Eduardo Guerrero and his hands loaded with charcoal break the liturgy to let themselves be carried away by the fall, the fate to draw with his feet, that even having a scheme, the painting itself is the one that has on the spotless canvas.

Shredding and tearing in every heel the paper, staining, tracing and dyeing is a simile with the life we are leading, little by little we are ending the World as happens to the role of the floor in every representation.

The emotional weight falls on the curtain, the importance of the donation that was made to the Organization Messengers of Peace provokes in the members a different energy as it grows in the course of the work, Being able to give a second life to these garments creates different aspects of thought that generate a nuance in the viewer working on favorite topics such as the relationships between the individual and the group, love and death.

As the work proceeds, a forgotten mountain of sand takes centre stage, with this element we want to transmit the fundamental role of possession, conquest, the union of man with the earth; in the end everything is born of it and throughout history, man at his end, returns to it.

For us the image par excellence is the ascent and coronation of the mountain at the hands of a woman; it is the breaking of established canons, the image of man does not take precedence over it; just as “Liberty leading the people” (Delacroix), this is the conqueror of the land and she sticks her flag evoking equality at the top of the stage.

Free sexuality is another message within the work, the delicacy and the way in which the love between two people of the same sex is evoked...

“Sombra Efímera II” evokes emotions, it is a work loaded with images that the viewer must find, a spectacle that speaks of the current society and the past centuries, of the evolution and the regression in certain plots, of the road and of the change, because without a path there would be no change.
