“Faro” is a flamenco show inspired by the poetry of the lighthouse.
It was created especially for a tour that in summer 2017 toured some lighthouses in Spain. Starting in the north, in the Asturias “Faro de Peñas”, visiting Avilés and the “Faro de la Cerda de Santander”, we continue in the south from the “Rompido” in Huelva to “Sacratif” in Granada and we traveled from Cartagena to Tarragona to finish in Cádiz, whose lighthouse remains in the early childhood memories of Eduardo Guerrero.
The lighthouse is the scene of storms and splendid sunrises, of games and joyful encounters, witness of countless battles and magical celebrations, and welcomes the dance of Eduardo Guerrero with the same naturalness that enjoys spectacular and nostalgic sunsets.
This is a work without a storyboard, where we taste different flamenco sticks and versions of mythical songs that have been inspired by his image. In “Faro”, musical numbers are interspersed with Eduardo’s dance so that the show goes in crescendo. Of short and white scenery, it leaves protagonism to the colour of the costumes and to the magnificent and precise choreographies. The lighthouse’s slenderness and elegance fit the figure of Edward as the sea and the waves it illuminates.
