Flamenco´s new prodigy…

Eduardo Guerrero Gonzalez (Cádiz, 1983) began dancing when he was just six years old at Carmen Guerrero’s School in Cádiz, where he forged the base of his dancing career that he then further developed with professional dancers such as Mario Maya, Antonio Canales or Manolo Marín among others. He studied Spanish Dance in Cádiz at the conservatory of music, and afterwards he extended his contemporary and classic dance knowledge with David Greenall and Montserrat Marín respectively.

It was in 2002 when he started to work with major artists on the national scene who valued Eduardo’s physical ability, flawless technique and evident quality.

Eduardo has been a part of or collaborated with: Aida Gómez (Salomé, Carmen and Suite Flamenca), Eva La Yerbabuena in almost all shows since 2003 to 2014, Rocio Molina (Oro Viejo, Bosque Ardora where Eduardo shined as contemporary dancer), The Spanish Ballet directed by Javier Latorre, playing one of the leading roles in the shows Somorostro and Penélope, Rafael Aguilar’s company with Bolero, Amador Rojas’ dance company with the show Kahlo Caló, Antonio Canales and his company (Bernarda Alba and Flamenco Directo)

Eduardo has toured all over the world with the above mentioned companies, at the side of the greatest names in Dance, at the best known and most prestigious theatres and dance festivals.

Moreover, he collaborated as a soloist flamenco dancer in: The Festival Estrellas del Museo Guggenheim in New York, a tribute to Chavela Vargas La Dama del Poncho Rojo, invited by the flamenco singer David Palomar, The Lowry of Salford Quays, Manchester, for The Royal Variety Performance, collaborating with The Stomps and in the presence of HRH the princess of England, the gala held by the famous dancer Vladimir Vasiliev as a posthumous tribute to his wife Ekaterina Maximova at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Madrid Fashion Week 2016 and 17 in collaboration with the prestigious Spanish Fashion Designer Francis Montesinos, the international tour of Las Minas Puerto Flamenco and Eterno Camarón

In 2011, he was awarded him first prize by the Professional Conservatories for a choreography he created, called ‘Mayo’. Since then, Eduardo began a solo career taking over the creation of his own performances:

Re-torno 2014 premiered at Teatro de la Abadía, Madrid

El Callejón de los Pecados 2014 premiered at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla.

Desplante April 2016, premiered in Teatro de la Ciudad, Monterrey (México).

Guerrero premiered on February 10 and 11, 2017 in Teatro Mayor de Bogotá (Colombia)

Among the most important prizes we mention Dance First Price at the oldest Flamenco Festival de la Union in 2013, which was the widespread recognition of Eduardo Guerero’s mastery. Since then, Eduardo has been touring with his creations in the main theaters and festivals with a very warm response from the international dance audiences, and increasingly excellent reviews.

In 2017 the premiere of his GUERRERO* show has been a huge success of both audience and press and the whole dance world agrees that Eduardo Guerrero is at a great moment in his incredible career. Recently ‘Guerrero’ obtained the Best Show Price in Flamenco Festival de Jerez.
